What is Myasthenia Gravis

Myasthenia Gravis is a rare auto-immune disorder of the muscles which results in muscle weakness and fatigue. At present there is no cure for MG but symptoms respond to treatment. Myasthenics may have difficulty with droopy eyelids, double vision, walking, chewing, swallowing, breathing or even smiling.

Myasthenia Gravis Information Handbook

Myasthenia Gravis Friends & Support Group in WA produced a Handbook for Myasthenics which is available for download as PDF file. It is suitable to both newly diagnosed, their families and carers, and those who may have known for some years that they have MG but have had little opportunity to talk to others similarly affected.

The Myasthenia Gravis Friends & Support Group in WA also produced an information booklet called “Drugs that may aggravate Myasthenia Gravis” which is a brief guide for patients, doctors and dentists. It contains information on myasthenia antibiotics to avoid, vaccination etc.
