Google Real Estate – See Real Estate Properties For Sale And For Rent Directly On A Map

With Google, it’s only a matter of time before they add more features and functionalities to their web search or online maps. And they seem to know how to do this so much faster and easier than anybody else. If you haven’t seen it already, check Google Maps for Real estate:

All you need is to type a suburb name and hit enter:

  • What you’ll get is an interactive map with lost or red dots on it
  • Each dot represents a house for sale or for rent
  • Clicking on a dot will open a little message in a balloon
  • You’ll see the price, address and the real estate agent for that property
  • Clicking on a photograph will open another windows with all available images for that property.

Why Use Google Real Estate Maps?

The answer is simple. It’s a completely different approach! Instead of typing-in a post code or a suburb name and look for a property on a commercial real estate website, you just open a map and all the properties for sale are already marked on that map. And what’s more, Google Real Estate aggregates data from multiple real estate agents. So, instead of visiting multiple real estate sites, you can see listings from them all in one convenience place.

It’s not yet known how this service will affect commercial real estate websites like realestate.com.au or domain.com.au. However, it’s only a matter of time for this service to become main stream. It is so easy to use and it is so fast.

  1. A nice idea to start from a map. Maybe other realestate websites will catch up and let people select an area on a map first, – cutting off all that “select the state” drop down menus rubbish.

  2. yeah, It’s a completely different approach! Instead of typing-in a post code or a suburb name and look for a property on a commercial real estate website.
