5 Tips To Break Into International Markets Using Google
Shaun Measday has registered and expanded several businesses into International Markets. He uses this website http://www.registeracompany.org.uk
20 years ago, if you had a successful product and, or business, and you wanted to expand into another Country and Continent, the process was time consuming and costly.
At the very least it would have taken several trips abroad, lots of research, untold amounts of money being invested into marketing, and even then, whether the expansion worked was always extremely risky.
For todays astute business owner, the lure of going into an International market is so compelling, it’s hard not to consider doing it. To make this even more attractive is the added incentive that the internet is the perfect tool to help break, conquer and dominate in another Country.
The techniques you can employ are varied, but what I will do here is a simple 5 step guide.
Step 1 – Market Research
This is so easy with the internet, it brings a tear to my eye when I think of how long it used to take. At the touch of your fingers, you can access information such as broadband penetration, population, GDP – you name it, and it’s there. Spend time doing this, it will make a difference between having to work extra hard, or just working hard.
Step 2 – Interpretation
Its obvious that when you launch your website in a different country, it needs to be translated. However, make sure you use a reputable firm that will translate effectively. Sometimes, words mean different things in different cultures. You need a company that understand this and will point out potential communication mishaps to you.
Step 3 – PPC Marketing
If you are a serious online business, you probably have a Pay Per Click trategy in place and are using Google Adwords already. Well, get the campaign interpreted, upload it, select your new country, and voila, you are marketing live across the globe. This really is the beauty of using the internet to expand internationally.
A days work at the most, and you are actively marketing on the Worlds biggest marketplace – Google. You should expect to see some conversion variances between your home territtory and your new arena, but in time you’ll learn to optimise your account as well as you do for your home campaigns.
Step 4 – SEO
So the site is up, you have paid traffic going there, now put a little effort into the SEO of your site in the new language. Instigate a link building campaign, put into effect the on page SEO factors you already have and within a short space of time, you will start to attract lovely, free, organic traffic to your site.
Step 5 – Rinse and Repeat
Now choose another country and do it all again. Simply rinse and repeat and watch your turnover increase incrementally.
Usually with this sort of thing, I would put a disclaimer in saying its never quite as easy as I have made out – but actually, if you’re organised and plan well, it is that easy.
Good luck!
